DESTINATIONS – OUTBACK TAG-ALONG TOURS AND TOUR OPERATORS
Back to the Track
A Lake Macquarie (NSW) couple has returned from an outback odyssey of more than 11,000 kilometres in a World War II-era truck, driving into the past and racing against time. We’re indebted to the South Australian chapter of the Wartime Vehicle Conservation Group for permission to publish this unusual Outback Travel story.
Part-rail-coach, part off-road-bus
This 2022 tour bus is fitted with a road-rail wheel kit that allows it to run on historic railway tracks and on roads and bush tracks in Tasmania’s wild west.
Kookaburra Tagalong Tours
Kookaburra Tagalong Tours is a family-owned, Queensland-based tour business, which has achieved certification at the Nature Tourism level.
Alice Springs Expeditions
This company is operated by John Stafford, who has lived and worked in the Alice Springs area for the past 20 years, with Tourism NT. He is well qualified to be an expert guide for your Alice Springs Expedition through outback Central Australia.
Daryl Beattie’s Outback motorcycle tours
Remote Outback Australian scenery and terrain, a hot shower each day, fully catered meals, and comfortable swags are among the rare luxuries guaranteed on a series of spectacular motorcycle tours that have been selected and organised by former 500cc grand prix ace Daryl Beattie.
