Best known for its extensive range of roof racks, mounting systems and accessories, Swedish-origin Thule – pronounced tool-uh – has a range of rooftop tents.
Typical of the range are the Tepui Foothill model and the Tepui Explorer Autana. Both models come with inbuilt foam mattresses and waterproof fly sheets.
The $2999 RRP two-person, narrow Foothill is designed to allow space for additional freight on a roof rack, such as a kayak. It folds compactly enough to be left on the roof rack for extended periods, allowing quick getaways when required.
The $3999 RRP three-person Explorer Autana extends to more than double its roof rack footprint and comes with a zip-close awning that doubles as a storage area, change room or shower/toilet annex.
The Thule rooftop tent range is designed to fit Thule racks that can usually be adapted to existing roof rails.
