With lighter more compact off-grid campers making even more sense at a time of high fuel costs, Stockman Products has just upgraded its off-grid pod camper, the Stockman Rover 2.0.
Major updates include a new Escape entry-level model, a new Renogy smart power system and large dual-awning setups.
Stockman Products has been building pod trailers since 2006 and the company recognised a growing demand for a camper that combined the off-road durability of its trailers with the enclosed, instant-setup comfort of a teardrop.

The original Rover was designed to not have to worry about putting up and packing down a trailer tent.
The Rover 02 brought better storage, a rear galley, and upgraded suspension.
Continuing on from this updated Rover 2.0 – released for the 2026 model year – brings increased payload capacity and off-grid power improvements.
Stockman has expanded the 2026 range to three models.
The newest addition is the $49,990 Escape, which provides effectively a blank canvas for buyers to customise.
The mid-spec Intrepid (from $64,990) and Ultra (from $79,990) upper-tier models continue with their premium off-road features.
A key change for 2026 is a switch from REDARC components to a Renogy smart power system, with up to a 3000W inverter and 600Ah of lithium capacity in the top-tier Ultra model.
System monitoring has been upgraded, now featuring the Renogy One Vision smart touchscreen, giving power usage and solar draw information on demand.
The 2026 Rover 2.0 has a new second awning for the opposite side of the trailer and a centre panel to zip the two individual 180-degree wings together to create an enclosed 360-degree sheltered area.
Underneath its fibreglass body, the Rover 2.0 is built on a hot-dipped galvanised, steel-tube chassis and (except for the road-oriented leaf-sprung Escape base model) rides on Cruisemaster coil spring independent suspension, giving the Rover some off-road credentials.
These pod trailers are light, with Tare between 1160kg and 1350kg, depending on model.
Key features across the range include a swing-out rear kitchen equipped with a stainless-steel bench, 130L Bushman fridge, 150L water capacity queen-size inner-spring mattress, and built-in storage solutions.
Both Intrepid and Ultra have and a two-burner stove and hot water/external shower tent, while on Ultra a reverse-cycle air conditioner and diesel hot water service are also part of the deal.
