GME’s five-watt CB range

GME released a new range of five-watt hand held UHF CB radios in late 2024. The TX6165 range featured a large LCD display, 2W speaker and a user-programmable button.

The TX6165 featured 5W transmission power; IP67 ingress-protection rating; up to 30 hours of battery life; VOX hands-free mode and a built-in LED torch.

The TX6165 Ultimate Pack came with a full range of professional grade accessories, including remote microphone, aerial and 12V charge cable; the TX6165TP Twin Pack fitted into a rugged carry case and the standard TX6165X was for users who needed just the radio.

Easily identifiable Blaze Orange and Yellow options were available for the TX6165X and TX6165TP.

Our on-line price check in early November 2024 showed pricing for the basic radio around $300; around $430 for the Ultimate Pack and around $600 for the Twin Pack.
