DESTINATIONS - OUTDOORS HEALTH & SAFETY
The Royal Flying Doctor Service has printed a pocket-sized quick guide to first aid. The single-sheet, fold-out guide packs into a cardboard holder and can easily be deployed for instant reading.
One side of the sheet displays
six of the most common first aid issues for bush travellers: heart attack; severe bleeding; choking, someone who’s unconscious; burns and snake bites.
The other side has a guide to safe and correct first aid response, including CPR.
Interestingly, the guide doesn’t suggest pulling on rubber gloves before any first-aid situation, but we always carry a box of disposable gloves, just in case.
The guide is free, but a donation to the RFDS is always welcome.
