Juana and Tony - VIC

Juana and Tony had planned a trip to NT and the Kimberley area but their plans changed dramatically when their old Patrol developed mechanical problems. They set up their Vista Crossover camper in a caravan park in Alice Springs and waited while the vehicle was repaired. That took two weeks out of the travel timetable and they weren’t sure what to do next. After a chance meeting with OTA’s Darrell and Linda White, the foursome spent the next two months touring together ……..

Additional comments:

This camper really was purchased with one trip in mind, NT, Kimberley areas. Due to a mechanical issue with our tow vehicle we met
with a couple in Alice Springs who aided us by turning our sterile “Kimberley” trip into a vast and extensive trek across some
very beautiful and truly remote areas of Western Australia.

The camper was dragged not only to the “Mitchell River Plateau”
camp ground but many locations including “Rudall River”. In plain truth we were overloaded both ute and camper, the poor ute did it
very hard. But the camper took everything in its stride and continued to amaze our companions who were in the box seat watching the
unit duck and weave taking everything I threw at it. It was mentioned that I only have one speed.

In just shy of 18,000 k’s the only real issue with the camper was that one of kitchen slides had a minor hiccup whereby the closed
position locking tab got bent and up due to the corrugations. This gave me a fright when I couldn’t get the kitchen open at
Mitchell River Plateau. But it was nothing a pair of long nose pliers couldn’t fix.

I believe Vista has found a better slide and is fitting same. These campers are essentially sealed, no gas inside. We did get a teaspoon
of dust in one the cupboards though, gotta be happy with that!
