CAMPING - CAMPER TRAILERS

UPGRADED CUB ESCAPE
Popular and reliable, and now much better equipped.

Cub’s Escape has been one of its staple rear-fold campers since 2016. It’s a popular off-road Cub model for couples or families wanting more room to move and has been significantly upgraded.

Over the last six years, Cub has listened to feedback from customers and has made major improvements to the Escape.

The tent and awning have been upgraded to match the Frontier’s design. This results in an improvement in airflow and light, thanks to upper quarter windows on either side of the camper. Also, the awning now zips across the top of the tent.

There’s an internal front canvas window that can be closed from inside and a bedroom privacy screen also comes standard. The inner-spring mattress has been replaced by a Slumberest Cloud 9 Pillow Top mattress.

A two-drawer cupboard with a seat cushion is now standard.

The Escape’s drawbar now matches that of the Frontier. It’s made from 150mm x 50mm x 3.0mm Australian steel and an extra clamp on the drawbar has been added, to allow you to attach the jockey wheel when towing.

Cub has improved the design of the roof rack and pole carrier, and upgraded tie-down points on the roof rack. The kitchen track has been powder-coated to improve its durability and longevity.

The suspension has been upgraded, with twin shock absorbers now standard.

The ATM on the has been increased by nearly 300kg, up to 1900kg, providing a payload capacity of approximately 800kg.

A new 100ah lithium battery is lighter, has a longer lifespan and greater charging efficiency, compared with the AGM battery used previously. There’s also a 12V master switch and 12V resettable fuse for the fridge.

There are three, automatic LED sensor lights in the new Escape: one under the bed, one in the fridge box and another in the driver’s side locker. The driver’s side locker also has a 12V-accessory/ twin USB socket.

Cub has replaced the less-popular merit plug sockets with 12V-accessory plugs within the camper. A warm-coloured LED light in the kitchen area is standard.

Another standard inclusion is a Fusion Stereo with twin speakers and new option packs are available for the Escape.
