Clearview has released the world’s first patented aluminium powered fridge slide that has been developed and tested over three years. It’s available in four sizes – S, M, L and XXL.
According to Clearview, the new electrically-operated slide lowers with the press of a button, allowing easy access to the fridge. The XXL model is intended for use with heavy fridges that are at the limit of safe operation on most manual slides and is dimensioned to accommodate most of them.
The unit is designed to operate with up to a 180kg-load, extending and lowering it up to 290mm. It’s unlikely a loaded fridge would get to that weight, but it’s good to know the slide has been tested at that level.
The Power Slide uses Clearview’s Tri Scissor Synchro-Lift design and is fabricated from powder-coated aluminium extruded sections. Testing is said to have replicated 10,000 movements.
Each Power Slide comes with four securing straps, a rubber mat and a three-year warranty.
Pricing wasn’t finalised when we went to press, but the manual slide starts at more than a grand, so the powered one won’t be cheap – budget for up to two grand, we reckon.
Clearview’s expansion has necessitated a new warehouse in Brendale, Qld, in addition to its Melbourne HQ. The site will eventually also house a retail showroom and fitting workshop. This new warehouse should mean reduced delivery times and freight costs for Deep North customers.
