BUYERS GUIDE - UTES & CAB CHASSIS LARGE
Harrison F-Trucks is offering the F-Series range, from the legendary F150, to the Superduty F250, F350, F450, and F550 models.
Harrison F-Trucks has delivered more than 1000 F-Series to Australian customers since 2002 and the company says these RHD-converted models are backed by Australian Compliance, with a conversion built to the highest safety standards.
The post-2015 F-Series Superduty features engine and chassis upgrades that include an improved Power Stroke V8 turbo-diesel engine. In addition, there’s a locally developed and tested passenger side airbag.
The second-generation 6.7-litre Power Stroke V8 turbo diesel now boasts 328kW, up from 298kW and 1166Nm of torque, up from 1084Nm, across all Superduty F-250 to F-550 models.
The new Power Stroke has its exhaust manifolds in the engine V, with the inlet manifolds positioned on the outside. This layour provides short exhaust gas flow to a new, larger turbocharger that also sits between the cylinder banks, improving turbo response. This arrangement concentrates the engine’s
hottest components into one location.
The new engine also has greatly improved engine braking.
Fitted with a six-speed TorqShift gearbox, the F-Series is available in five trim and equipment levels, enabling it to be specified from a workhorse up to a rival for top-end SUVs.
The post-2015 F-450 tops the F-Series Superduty pickup truck line-up with maximum fifth-wheel/gooseneck towing capacity increasing to a class-leading 14.1 tonnes, a gain of 2.9 tonnes. The truck’s gross combined weight rating increases to a class-leading 18.1 tonnes, a gain of 3.1 tonnes.
The F-350 Superduty is available with a high-capacity towing package that includes new front springs and a wide track axle, increasing the gross combined weight rating with the 6.7-litre Power Stroke engine from 14.5 tonnes to 15.9 tonnes.
Delivered via Harrison F-Trucks’ Melbourne and Sunshine Coast dealerships, the F-Series Superduty range starts with a recommended retail price of $105,000, excluding statutory charges, dealer costs and delivery.
