Water from the Air
Watergen Ltd, a global leading company in atmospheric water generation technology, plans to launch what is said to be the world’s first built-in water generator for recreation vehicles and campers in 2022.
The ‘Watergen ON Board’, water-from-air generator condenses humidity in the air to provide a claimed 40 litres per day of fresh, clean drinking water. This water is produced completely independently of an external water supply.
The unit plugs into any 12V battery or alternator power source.
An integrated sub-micron barrier filter is said to eliminate <2.5 particulate matter as part of a multi-step filtration cascade that’s followed by a germicidal UV lamp.
Minerals balance the pH to achieve neutral, tasty drinking water.
Watergen’s award-winning GENius™ technology offers a wide ambient operating range of 15-45°C in 20-99-percent air humidity and is said to be ideal for RVs and campers who need water generation and off-the-grid living.
Cooled, dry air from the roof-mounted ON Board unit can be used to cool the vehicle interior.
The Watergen ON Board is scheduled to be available firstly in the USA, in the spring of 2022 and Australia is part of the product’s global roll-out. Pricing for international markets is yet to be announced.
The Watergen ON Board is part of an expanding portfolio of innovative water generating products geared towards an active, on-the-go lifestyle including the compact Watergen Mobile Box and the medium-sized Watergen GEN-M1.
The Mobile Box weighs only 15kg and is easily transported via its handles and wheels.
Power consumption for the Mobile Box is 350W and for the ON Board roof-top version, around twice that.
OTA will advise on Australian-market availability and pricing in early 2022.
