Dometic expands its camping gear empire
Dometic is a long-term player in the camping gear business and has recently expanded its portfolio with some significant takeovers.
On May 18, 2021, Swedish-headquartered Dometic began the takeover of Enerdrive, an Australian-based provider of mobile power products. Enerdrive’s 2020 net sales totalled A$28 million and the company has more than 1200 dealers.
Two days later, Dometic entered into an agreement to acquire South African company, Front Runner Vehicle Outfitters: a global provider of products for the outdoor market headquartered in Johannesburg.
Front Runner’s 2020 sales were US$35 million and the lineup included roof racks, roof-top tents and storage products.
Then on May 28 Dometic took over Zamp Solar in the USA. Zamp’s sales were approximately US$14 million in 2020, with a good operating margin and strong organic sales growth.
